Meet Sofia Sanchez de Betak
Born in Buenos Aires and based in New York, Sofia Sanchez de Betak is both an art director and style consultant in addition to her role as founder of an internationally-coveted fashion brand. The sharp-eyed world traveler has collaborated with brands ranging from Chanel and Chloe to Valentino and Vogue, and is sought after for her ability to engage in vivid visual storytelling through her creations.
As a Global Explorer for The Luxury Collection, she searches for travel experiences that highlight the true essence of each destination she chooses around the globe. She is united with her fellow Global Explorers by their shared fluency in world cultures.
CHUFY x The Luxury Collection
The CHUFY x The Luxury Collection series encompasses a loungewear-based capsule collection of pajamas, robes, kimonos, and sleep masks, all rendered in silk, viscose, or cupro, an innovative cotton-based fabric beloved for its silky smoothness and environmental sustainability.
From Dubai-inspired desert prints to artistic influences direct from Japan, the pieces each convey a distinct sense of place with a mood to match. The capsule collection is inspired by Sanchez de Betak’s global travels during which she experienced destinations through the lens of The Luxury Collection’s celebrated hotels, including Suiran in Kyoto and The Prince Gallery in Tokyo.
The Luxury Collection Luggage Series by Globe-Trotter, produced in collaboration with the famed British luxury luggage brand, is designed by Sanchez de Betak as well, featuring shades of blue and white accented by touches of black, as well as Globe-Trotter’s signature handmade leather trim and iconic gold hardware.
The interior of each piece is lined with cotton linen and features a colorfully illustrated scavenger map of one of four destinations, a design quartet inspired by Athens, Messinia, Mykonos, and Santorini. This homage to Greece harks back to the original “Golden Age of Travel” in the 1950s and 1960s — those halcyon days of vintage steamer trunks and the rise of the luxury jetliner.
